Ingredients
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, then drain any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until they’re soft.
- Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, cooked rice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Transfer everything to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until it’s bubbly and heated all the way through. Let it cool for a moment before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the beef broth is low sodium if you are watching your salt intake.
- You can use leftover cooked rice for this recipe.
