Description

Juicy cheeseburger sliders baked with seasoned beef and melty cheddar on soft dinner rolls. An easy 30 minute party favorite.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef 90 to 93 percent lean
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup finely diced yellow onion
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 24 soft dinner rolls
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly brush a rimmed baking sheet with oil or butter.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, breaking the meat apart, until fully browned.
  4. Tilt the skillet and carefully spoon off excess fat. Stir mayonnaise into the cooked beef mixture until evenly combined and creamy. Remove from heat.
  5. Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally, keeping the bottoms and tops connected in slabs. Place the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Lay the cheddar slices evenly over the bottom rolls. Spread the beef mixture evenly on top, pressing gently into an even layer. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the beef.
  7. Place the top halves of the rolls over the filling. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes, then slice into individual sliders and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F as measured with a meat thermometer to ensure it is safe to eat.
