Description
Juicy cheeseburger sliders baked with seasoned beef and melty cheddar on soft dinner rolls. An easy 30 minute party favorite.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef 90 to 93 percent lean
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup finely diced yellow onion
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 24 soft dinner rolls
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly brush a rimmed baking sheet with oil or butter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for 7 to 9 minutes, breaking the meat apart, until fully browned.
- Tilt the skillet and carefully spoon off excess fat. Stir mayonnaise into the cooked beef mixture until evenly combined and creamy. Remove from heat.
- Slice the dinner rolls in half horizontally, keeping the bottoms and tops connected in slabs. Place the bottom halves on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lay the cheddar slices evenly over the bottom rolls. Spread the beef mixture evenly on top, pressing gently into an even layer. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the beef.
- Place the top halves of the rolls over the filling. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes, then slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
- Cook ground beef to an internal temperature of 160 degrees F as measured with a meat thermometer to ensure it is safe to eat.
