Description
This caramel apple pull apart bread is gooey, sweet, and filled with tender apples and caramel. It uses a shortcut biscuit dough baked in a loaf pan.
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuits 16 ounces
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 large apple peeled and diced
- 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2/3 cup caramel baking bits
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 1 to 3 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Separate each biscuit horizontally into two thinner layers so you have 16 pieces total.
- Brush melted butter on one side of each biscuit layer. Sprinkle a tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered side.
- Scatter a small amount of diced apple and caramel bits over the sugar layer.
- Stack two prepared biscuit layers together and place them upright in the loaf pan. Repeat until the pan is full, packing them snugly.
- Drizzle any remaining butter over the top and sprinkle with any remaining sugar, apples, and caramel bits.
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and transfer to a rack.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla powder, and enough cream to make a drizzle. Spoon over the warm bread before serving.
