Description

This caramel apple pull apart bread is gooey, sweet, and filled with tender apples and caramel. It uses a shortcut biscuit dough baked in a loaf pan.

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuits 16 ounces
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large apple peeled and diced
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup caramel baking bits
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Separate each biscuit horizontally into two thinner layers so you have 16 pieces total.
  4. Brush melted butter on one side of each biscuit layer. Sprinkle a tablespoon of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the buttered side.
  5. Scatter a small amount of diced apple and caramel bits over the sugar layer.
  6. Stack two prepared biscuit layers together and place them upright in the loaf pan. Repeat until the pan is full, packing them snugly.
  7. Drizzle any remaining butter over the top and sprinkle with any remaining sugar, apples, and caramel bits.
  8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and transfer to a rack.
  10. Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla powder, and enough cream to make a drizzle. Spoon over the warm bread before serving.
