Description
Rich and intensely dark chocolate brownies made with black cocoa powder for an extra deep flavor. Perfect for beginner bakers.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8 inch square pan with parchment paper or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk butter, oil, and sugar for 1 minute. Add eggs and vanilla, mix vigorously for 1 minute or until slightly paler.
- Sift flour, cocoa, and salt into wet ingredients. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the middle no longer jiggles. The tops will be set and continue to bake as they cool. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with fudgy crumbs for a very fudgy brownie.
- Remove from oven and cool to room temperature.
Notes
- Using black cocoa powder provides an intensely dark color and rich chocolate flavor.
- Do not overbake to ensure a fudgy texture.
- Cooling completely is key for the best texture.
