Description

These BBQ Meatball Party Appetizers are saucy, tender, and perfect for feeding a crowd. Easy oven baked meatballs finished in bold BBQ sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef 85 percent lean
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire style sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs and milk and let soak 1 minute.
  3. Add egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper and mix well.
  4. Gently mix in ground beef until just combined.
  5. Roll mixture into 1 1/2 inch meatballs about 1 1/2 ounces each and place on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 16 to 18 minutes until cooked through and browned.
  7. While meatballs bake, stir BBQ sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire style sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.
  8. Transfer baked meatballs to the saucepan and gently stir to coat.
  9. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until glossy and heated through.
  10. Serve warm with toothpicks.
