Description

A simple and elegant dessert featuring thinly sliced apples arranged in rose shapes over a flaky crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet refrigerated puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 medium red apples, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a tart pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the apple slices in a microwave-safe bowl with lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of water. Microwave for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly softened and flexible.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and place it into the tart pan. Brush with melted butter.
  4. Arrange the apple slices in overlapping rows, starting from the outside edge and working inward to create a rose pattern. Sprinkle evenly with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and crisp. Warm the apricot preserves with 1 tablespoon of water and brush over the tart before serving.

Notes

  • Choose red apples with thin skins for the prettiest rose pattern and tender texture after baking.
