Description

Create delicious Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls with an easy apple filling. This recipe from NoobRecipes, guided by Adam, is perfect for beginners, making baking fun and stress-free.

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp instant dry yeast
  • 120 g sugar
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 60 g unsalted melted butter, cooled
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • For the apple pie filling:
  • 900 g apples, peeled and cubed
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. For the dough: Mix lukewarm milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients. Mix until a uniform, sticky dough forms.
  2. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour, or until doubled in size. If your kitchen is cold, place it in the oven with the light on.
  3. For the apple pie filling: Peel, core, and cube the apples.
  4. Cook apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water in a saucepan for 10-15 minutes until apples are soft and sauce thickens.
  5. Let the filling cool completely. Reserve ¼ of the filling for later.
  6. Assembly: Lightly flour a clean tabletop. Roll out the dough into a 40×30 cm rectangle.
  7. Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other.
  9. Cut the rolls into 3-finger thick slices.
  10. Place the rolls on a baking pan lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
  11. Let the rolls rest for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  12. Bake at 180°C/350°F for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. Spread the reserved apple filling on top of the baked rolls.

Notes

  • The sticky dough is intentional and creates a gooey texture.
  • Ensure the apple filling is completely cool before spreading it on the dough.
  • Leaving space between the rolls allows them to rise properly.
  • The reserved apple filling is used after baking for extra flavor.
