Description
Make apple nachos with peanut butter drizzle and granola in 10 minutes. This is a fun, healthy snack loaded with crisp apples and crunchy toppings, perfect for a quick treat.
Ingredients
- 4 large crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water
- ¾ cup granola
- ⅓ cup mini dark chocolate chips
- ¼ cup dried cranberries
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Core apples and slice into ¼-inch thick rounds or wedges, keeping the skin on.
- Place apple slices in a large bowl and toss gently with lemon juice to prevent browning.
- Arrange apple slices on a large serving platter in overlapping layers, building 2 to 3 levels for a nacho effect.
- Combine peanut butter and honey in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 to 30 seconds until warm and fluid.
- Stir 2 to 3 tablespoons of warm water into the peanut butter mixture, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches a smooth drizzleable consistency.
- Drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture over the arranged apple slices in a zigzag pattern.
- Sprinkle granola evenly over the entire platter.
- Scatter mini dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries, and sliced almonds across the top.
- Finish with a light dusting of ground cinnamon and serve immediately.
Notes
- Replace peanut butter with almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or cashew butter for different flavors.
- Use maple syrup instead of honey for a deeper sweetness in the drizzle.
- Swap dried cranberries for raisins, chopped dates, or dried blueberries.
- Add shredded coconut, chia seeds, or hemp hearts to the toppings for extra nutrition.
- Assemble just before serving to keep granola crunchy and apples crisp.
