Description
Make crispy cinnamon sugar tortilla chips in the air fryer in 15 minutes. Served with sweet yogurt dip for a healthy dessert snack.
Ingredients
- 4 large flour tortillas (8-inch)
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 325°F for 3 minutes.
- Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut each tortilla into 8 triangular wedges, creating 32 chips total.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave for 20 seconds.
- Combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix well, then set aside.
- Brush both sides of each tortilla triangle with melted butter using a pastry brush.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously on both sides of each buttered tortilla triangle.
- Arrange tortilla triangles in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping, working in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 12 to 14 minutes, pausing every 4 minutes to shake the basket and rearrange chips for even crisping.
- Let chips rest in the open air fryer basket for 1 to 2 minutes after cooking to crisp up further, then prepare the yogurt dip by whisking together Greek yogurt, maple syrup, almond butter, and cinnamon until smooth, and serve chips warm with dip for food safety within 2 hours.
Notes
- Use whole wheat tortillas instead of flour tortillas for added fiber.
- Replace butter with melted coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
- Use coconut sugar or brown sugar instead of granulated sugar for deeper sweetness.
- Add ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg or cardamom to the cinnamon sugar for warming spice notes.
- Make the yogurt dip with honey instead of maple syrup.
- Add a pinch of sea salt to the cinnamon sugar for sweet and salty flavor.
- Store completely cooled cinnamon crisps in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Store yogurt dip separately in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat chips in the air fryer at 300°F for 2 to 3 minutes to restore crispiness. Do not freeze.
