Description
Extra crispy air fryer chicken wings with simple pantry seasoning. Ready in under 25 minutes. These wings are ultra crispy outside and juicy inside.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings separated into flats and drumettes about 16 to 20 pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 half teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. Removing moisture is essential for crispy skin.
- Place the wings in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket without touching. Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes. Open the basket and flip the wings using tongs.
- Continue cooking for another 8 to 10 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook poultry to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit as measured with a food thermometer.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 3 minutes before serving. Serve as is or with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Drying the wings thoroughly before seasoning is the key to achieving extra crispy skin in the air fryer.
