Description

Crispy air fryer tilapia with lemon parmesan crust and simple lemon drizzle. This is a quick 15 minute dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 tilapia fillets about 6 ounces each patted dry
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 third cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 half teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 half teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 quarter teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with oil or line with perforated parchment made for air fryers.
  2. In a shallow bowl, add the beaten egg. In a second shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, lemon zest, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dip each tilapia fillet into the egg, coating both sides completely. Let excess drip off, then press into the breadcrumb mixture, coating evenly on all sides.
  4. Place the breaded fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
  5. Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes until the coating is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook fish to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit as measured with a food thermometer.
  6. While the fish cooks, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  7. Remove the tilapia from the air fryer and drizzle lightly with the lemon butter mixture. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
