Description
Crispy air fryer tilapia with lemon parmesan crust and simple lemon drizzle. This is a quick 15 minute dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 tilapia fillets about 6 ounces each patted dry
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1 third cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 half teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 half teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 quarter teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 pinch kosher salt
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with oil or line with perforated parchment made for air fryers.
- In a shallow bowl, add the beaten egg. In a second shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, lemon zest, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each tilapia fillet into the egg, coating both sides completely. Let excess drip off, then press into the breadcrumb mixture, coating evenly on all sides.
- Place the breaded fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overlapping.
- Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes until the coating is golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook fish to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit as measured with a food thermometer.
- While the fish cooks, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Remove the tilapia from the air fryer and drizzle lightly with the lemon butter mixture. Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Pat the tilapia dry before breading so the coating sticks well and crisps evenly in the air fryer.
