Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen edamame in pods, thawed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh lemon wedges (for serving)
- Extra Parmesan cheese (for sprinkling)
- Flaky sea salt (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Thaw frozen edamame by soaking in warm water for 5 minutes, then drain completely.
- Pat the edamame completely dry with paper towels to remove all excess moisture for maximum crispiness.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Transfer the dried edamame to a large mixing bowl and drizzle with olive oil, tossing to coat evenly.
- Add grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the bowl and toss well until all edamame are evenly coated.
- Spread the seasoned edamame in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they have space and are not overcrowded.
- Air fry at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring gently with a spatula every 3 to 4 minutes to ensure even browning.
- Check for doneness at 10 minutes—the edamame should be golden brown with crispy edges and slightly charred spots.
- Remove from the air fryer and transfer to a serving bowl immediately.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the hot edamame and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese and flaky sea salt if desired.
