Description
Sweet and sticky air fryer honey garlic salmon with caramelized edges. Ready in under 15 minutes. This salmon is tender, flaky, and coated in a sweet savory glaze.
Ingredients
- 2 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each and 1 inch thick
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 and one half tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon freshly minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sliced green onions (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and place them in a shallow dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Divide the sauce evenly into two small bowls.
- Brush the salmon with olive oil, then spoon one portion of the honey garlic sauce over the fillets. Let marinate at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket skin side down if skin is present. Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 to 9 minutes depending on thickness.
- Cook the salmon until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove the salmon carefully and drizzle with the reserved sauce that was not used for marinating.
- Sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Avoid overcooking the salmon to keep it moist and tender.
- Begin checking for doneness at 7 minutes for thinner fillets.
