Description
Ingredients
- 2 strip steaks about 1 inch thick and 10 ounces each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 half teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
- 1 clove garlic very finely minced
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 pinch kosher salt
Instructions
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 15 minutes before cooking to bring them closer to room temperature. Pat completely dry with paper towels.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
- Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil. Season evenly with kosher salt and black pepper, pressing gently so it adheres.
- Place the steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
- Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes for medium rare, 12 minutes for medium, or 14 minutes for medium well, depending on desired doneness. For medium rare, cook until the internal temperature reaches 130 degrees Fahrenheit, for medium 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and for medium well 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
- While the steaks cook, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and a small pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth.
- Remove the steaks from the air fryer once they are 5 degrees below your target temperature, as they will continue to rise while resting.
- Let the steaks rest on a cutting board for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing. Top with a spoonful of garlic butter just before serving. Cook beef steaks to a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit for food safety as measured with a food thermometer.
Notes
- Letting the steak rest before slicing allows the juices to redistribute for a more tender and flavorful result.
