Ingredients
- 1 cup sliced pickles
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- For the dip:
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup minced onions
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
Instructions
- Lay sliced pickles between layers of paper towels to dry for a few minutes.
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- In another shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
- Working one at a time, dip each dried pickle slice into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
- Coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs, then transfer to a baking sheet.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400 °F (204 °C).
- Arrange the breaded pickles in a single layer in the air-fryer basket, leaving some space between each. Spray lightly with oil.
- Air-fry for 5–7 minutes, then flip the pickles, spray with more oil, and continue air-frying for another 5–7 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- Meanwhile, prepare the dip by combining all dip ingredients in a small bowl.
- Serve the crispy fried pickles alongside the sour cream & onion dip.

- Drying the pickles well is key to achieving maximum crispiness.
- Adjust hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
- For a finer onion flavor in the dip, mince the onions very finely.
