Description

Make delicious Air Fryer Fried Pickles with this easy recipe. Perfect for a crispy snack or appetizer, these pickles are coated in seasoned panko breadcrumbs and air-fried to golden perfection. Serve them with a simple sour cream and onion dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sliced pickles
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • For the dip:
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup minced onions
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Lay sliced pickles between layers of paper towels to dry for a few minutes.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Working one at a time, dip each dried pickle slice into the egg wash, letting excess drip off.
  5. Coat thoroughly in breadcrumbs, then transfer to a baking sheet.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400 °F (204 °C).
  7. Arrange the breaded pickles in a single layer in the air-fryer basket, leaving some space between each. Spray lightly with oil.
  8. Air-fry for 5–7 minutes, then flip the pickles, spray with more oil, and continue air-frying for another 5–7 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Meanwhile, prepare the dip by combining all dip ingredients in a small bowl.
  10. Serve the crispy fried pickles alongside the sour cream & onion dip.

Notes

  • Drying the pickles well is key to achieving maximum crispiness.
  • Adjust hot sauce to your preferred spice level.
  • For a finer onion flavor in the dip, mince the onions very finely.
  • Optional dill adds an extra layer of flavor to the dip.
