Description

Golden air fryer chicken tenders with a crunchy seasoned coating and juicy center. This is a quick family friendly dinner option.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken tenders trimmed if needed
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt plus extra for finishing
  • 1 half teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large eggs
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken tenders completely dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps the coating stick and crisp.
  2. In a shallow dish, whisk together the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. In a second shallow bowl, whisk the eggs until smooth.
  4. Dredge each chicken tender in the seasoned flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, then coat again in the flour mixture, pressing gently so it adheres. Place on a plate and repeat with remaining tenders.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with olive oil spray.
  6. Arrange the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece. Lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray to moisten any dry flour spots. Cook in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 to 6 minutes. Flip the tenders and cook another 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook poultry to an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit as measured with a food thermometer.
  8. Transfer to a plate and sprinkle lightly with additional salt while hot. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • If your tenders are thin, begin checking for doneness at 5 minutes per side to prevent overcooking.
