Description

Make crispy, lightly salted, and naturally sweet banana chips using your air fryer. This simple snack is ready fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm ripe bananas
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into even rounds about one eighth to one quarter inch thick. Keep the slices uniform for even cooking.
  2. Place the banana slices in a bowl and gently toss with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt until lightly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Work in batches if needed.
  5. Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 7 minutes. Open the basket and carefully flip the slices.
  6. Continue cooking for another 5 to 8 minutes until the chips are golden and slightly firm in the center. Watch closely to prevent over browning.
  7. Remove the banana chips and place them on a wire rack or plate in a single layer. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. They will crisp as they cool.
  8. Repeat with remaining slices. Store completely cooled chips in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use firm bananas that are ripe but not overly soft to ensure the slices hold their shape and crisp properly.
