Crispy air fryer French toast sticks coated in cinnamon sugar. A quick breakfast treat ready in under 20 minutes. These sticks are golden, crisp, and sweet, perfect for dipping in maple syrup.
Ingredients
- 4 thick slices brioche or Texas toast
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Slice each piece of bread into three even sticks. Set aside.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a shallow bowl until fully combined.
- Stir together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a separate shallow bowl.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- Quickly dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, coating both sides lightly without soaking. Let excess drip off.
- Roll each coated stick in the cinnamon sugar mixture or sprinkle generously on all sides.
- Place the sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each one. Cook in batches if needed.
- Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside. Do not flip.
- Serve warm with maple syrup if desired.
Notes
- Dip the bread quickly in the egg mixture to prevent soggy centers and help the sticks crisp properly.
