Description
Caramelized air fryer pineapple with brown sugar and warm spices. A sweet side or dessert ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 large fresh pineapple peeled cored and cut into 1 inch thick spears or chunks about 6 cups
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 eighth teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
- Place the pineapple pieces in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with melted butter and toss gently to coat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle the mixture over the pineapple and toss until evenly coated.
- Arrange the pineapple in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Work in batches if necessary to prevent overcrowding.
- Air fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 to 10 minutes until the edges are golden brown and lightly caramelized.
- Remove carefully and serve warm. Spoon any caramelized juices from the basket over the top before serving.
Notes
- Choose a ripe pineapple that smells sweet at the base and has a golden exterior for the best flavor.
