Description
Make crispy cinnamon pear chips in the air fryer in 20 minutes. This recipe offers a healthy sweet snack using just three ingredients and no added sugar.
Ingredients
- 3 large firm pears (Bosc, Anjou, or Bartlett)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon coconut sugar or brown sugar (optional)
- ⅘ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Wash and dry pears thoroughly. Slice them as thinly as possible into uniform rounds about ⅘ inch thick using a mandoline or sharp knife.
- Remove cores and seeds from each pear slice using a small cookie cutter or paring knife.
- Place pear slices in a large bowl and toss gently with melted coconut oil until evenly coated on all sides.
- Combine ground cinnamon, coconut sugar, and sea salt in a small bowl and mix well.
- Preheat air fryer to 300°F for 3 minutes.
- Arrange pear slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Work in batches if needed.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture evenly over the pear slices in the basket.
- Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes. Flip slices halfway through at the 7-minute mark. Cook until pears are golden brown and crispy at the edges.
- Remove chips from the air fryer. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for 10 minutes to allow them to crisp up further.
Notes
- Choose pears that are ripe but still firm for slices that hold their shape.
- Slice pears uniformly for consistent thickness and even crisping.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; overlapping slices will steam instead of crisp.
- Chips will crisp significantly as they cool on the wire rack.
- Store completely cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Avoid refrigeration.
- If chips lose crispness, re-crisp in the air fryer at 275°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
