Description
Quick and delicious air fryer churro bites, perfect for a sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup white sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder (for coating)
Instructions
- In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat and stir in flour until a smooth dough forms. Remove from heat.
- Transfer dough to a mixing bowl and let cool for 5 minutes. Add egg and vanilla. Mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
- Put dough in a piping bag. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray basket with nonstick cooking spray.
- Pipe bite-sized churros into the basket, leaving space between them. Alternatively, drop spoonfuls of dough.
- Lightly brush the tops with butter. Air fry for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Cook in batches if needed.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
- Toss hot churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mix until fully coated. Brush with melted butter to help sugar stick.
- Serve warm with dips like chocolate syrup or honey.
Notes
- If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use spoonfuls of dough.
- A little extra melted butter on the churro bites helps the cinnamon-sugar coating adhere better.
