Description
Crispy, high-protein cauliflower bites coated in a creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce. Perfect for a healthy and satisfying appetizer or meal.
Ingredients
- For the Cauliflower:
- 1 large head of cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
- 3 large eggs, beaten
- ¾ cup almond flour
- ¾ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp ground pepper
- Cooking spray
- For the High-Protein Bang Bang Sauce:
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1-2 tbsp Sriracha, or to taste
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Set up your breading station. Place the beaten eggs in a shallow bowl. In a separate shallow bowl, combine the almond flour, Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each cauliflower floret first into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip off. Then, dredge it in the almond flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure it’s fully coated.
- Arrange the coated cauliflower florets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary. Lightly spray the tops of the cauliflower with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the coating is golden brown and crispy and the cauliflower is tender.
- While the cauliflower is cooking, prepare the sauce. In a large bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha until smooth.
- Once all the cauliflower is cooked, transfer the hot, crispy florets to the bowl with the bang bang sauce. Toss gently to coat all the pieces evenly.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add more Sriracha.
- If you don’t have Greek yogurt, you can use sour cream or mayonnaise, but the protein content will be lower.
- Ensure cauliflower is dry before breading for best adhesion.
