  • Egg: 1 large
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 tsp
  • German Chocolate: 4 oz
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup
  • Powdered Sugar: 3 cups
  • Milk: 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Make the cheesecake center by beating cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add egg and vanilla.
  3. Melt German chocolate and butter in a saucepan, then let cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and egg yolks until fluffy, then add cooled chocolate and vanilla.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, then add to the chocolate mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  6. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the batter.
  7. Pour half of the batter into each prepared pan, add cheesecake mixture, and top with remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, then cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the frosting by melting chocolate and butter, then mixing with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  10. Assemble the cake by frosting between layers and on top and sides.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

Notes
