These rich cheesecake brownies combine fudgy chocolate and creamy cheesecake layers for a decadent dessert everyone will love. They offer a gorgeous marbled top and deep cocoa flavor.

Ingredients

  • Brownie Batter:
    • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
    • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • ½ cup all-purpose flour
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Cheesecake Layer:
    • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
    • ½ cup powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold into the wet ingredients until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy and smooth.
  6. Pour half the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Spoon the cheesecake mixture on top, then add the remaining brownie batter in dollops.
  7. Use a knife to gently swirl the layers for a marbled look.
  8. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes
