Description
A delicious recipe for Air Fryer Honey Butter Garlic Chicken Tenders that are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- First things first, preheat that air fryer to 375°F (190°C). We want it nice and hot for those tenders!
- In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika. This is gonna give our chicken a nice flavor base.
- In another bowl, whisk that egg like you mean it! And in a third bowl, pour in the panko breadcrumbs. We’re building layers of deliciousness here!
- Now, take each chicken tender and dredge it in the flour mixture, making sure it’s well coated. Then dip it into the egg, and finally, coat it with those crispy panko breadcrumbs. Get it nice and crunchy!
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place those coated chicken tenders in a single layer, giving them some space to breathe. Don’t forget to spray the tops with a little more cooking spray for that golden finish!
- Air fry those beauties for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through. We want them golden brown and cooked through, so keep an eye on them!
- While the chicken is cooking, let’s whip up that sauce. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, melted butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and if you like a little kick, toss in those red pepper flakes. Stir it all together until it’s warm and well combined.
- Once your chicken tenders are done, toss them in that heavenly honey butter garlic sauce until they’re fully coated. Oh boy, you’re gonna love this!
- Serve those tenders hot with your favorite dipping sauce or over a fluffy bed of rice. Enjoy every bite!
Notes
- For extra crunch, you can double coat the chicken tenders by repeating the dredging process.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
- These tenders can be served with a variety of dipping sauces like ranch or honey mustard.
